Introduction

This publication highlights our main traditional products, such as bananas, shrimp, coffee, and cocoa; as well as non-traditional products that have thrived in recent years and which are a significant contribution to our trade balance favoring the diversification of Ecuadorian exportable goods.
It is worth noting that institutional steps taken in view of achieving this diversification is one of the goals included in the National Plan for the Promotion of Ecuadorian Exports for the period 2001-2010. These actions are characterized by the incorporation of high quality products, increasingly focused on organic and ecological production processes- seeking above all a commitment from the industries with the protection of the environment and the well-being of the Ecuadorian population as a whole.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Export and Investment Promotion Corporation -CORPEI, present the Catalog “Ecuador Exports 2004”, in an attempt to contribute to the development of the country through the Ecuador’s non-oil exports.
The goal of this combined effort is to advertise the potential of our main export products, taking advantage of the significant infrastructure and the human resources of the External Commercial Network, which was created by the two institutions.
The External network, implemented by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, benefits from the contributions of the human and technical resources of CORPEI in markets deemed as a priority for the country.
Through this strategic alliance, our executives stationed abroad are constantly collecting market intelligence, promoting and disseminating our exportable offers, organizing business and providing support to Ecuadorian delegates that participate in international fairs.
